Frauensee - women's lake ;-)

Our lakes – each one unique:

  • Lake Urisee in Mühl/Breitenwang – probably the warmest lake in the region.
  • Frauensee – For romantics, the somewhat secluded, mysterious-looking Frauensee is just the ticket! As there is very little beach area, this lake is not overcrowded.
  • Alatsee – Alatsee in Vils. It is up to 35 m deep. At a depth of 15–18 m, it features a bright pink layer of purple sulphur bacteria, considered one of the most distinctive in freshwater lakes worldwide.
  • Heiterwanger See – This mountain lake lies at 1,000 m above sea level, is 40 m deep and, in high summer, is ideal for swimming and relaxing, with excellent water quality. It is also very popular with runners and hikers, as the route around the lake is very varied and offers beautiful scenery.
  • Haldensee in the Tannheim Valley – Situated at an altitude of 1,124 m, Haldensee is 28 m deep and boasts excellent water quality. Surfing, rowing, swimming and sailing are all possible, and rowing boats, pedalos and surfboards can be hired at the Haldensee lido.
  • Vilsalpsee in the Tannheim Valley – Vilsalpsee, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol, lies in the heart of the nature reserve of the same name. Swimming is permitted and free of charge, although the water temperature rarely exceeds 17 degrees.
  • Fernstein Lakes – The Fernstein landscape is characterised by a series of lakes: the Blindsee, Fernsteinsee, Mittersee and Weißensee, the largest of which is the Blindsee.

In the neighbouring Allgäu region, there are also several lakes waiting for you, such as Schwansee, Alpsee, Forggensee, Bannwaldsee, Hopfensee and Weissensee...
