Beautiful mountain and bathing lakes in the immediate vicinity

Five crystal-clear lakes with drinking water quality are located in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Talhof. Our lakes invite you to go hiking, swimming, diving, sailing, surfing and fishing. In search of the refreshing springs of life, you will discover sparkling waterfalls, streams, mountains and a multitude of small and large lakes.

The Plansee.

An excursion on a ‘Heiterwanger- und Planseeschifffahrt’ boat is an experience you won't soon forget! At its deepest point, the lake measures 76.5 metres.

Our excursion tips:

• The Urisee in Mühl/Breitenwang - The Urisee, which is very popular with locals, is idyllically situated in a hollow. Especially after a mountain tour, e.g. to the Dürrnberger Alm, you can cool off in the clear water.

• Frauensee - The somewhat hidden, mysterious Frauensee is just right for romantics! It is also the starting point for many hikes, for example via the Hahle to the Musauer Alm. Since fall 2009, it has been possible to stop for a bite to eat at the Frauensee Stube.

• Heiterwanger See - The mountain lake lies at 1,000 m above sea level, is 40 m deep and is ideal for swimming and relaxing in high summer with the best water quality. It is also very popular with runners and hikers, as the route around the lake is very varied and scenically beautiful.

• Alatsee - The Alatsee in Vils. It is up to 35 m deep. At 15-18 m, it has a bright pink-colored layer of purple sulfur bacteria, which is one of the most pronounced in freshwater lakes worldwide.

• Haldensee in the Tannheimer Valley - At an altitude of 1,124 m, the Haldensee is 28 m deep and has excellent water quality. Surfing, rowing, swimming and sailing are all possible, as well as rowing boat, pedal boat and surfboard hire at the Haldensee lido.

• Vilsalpsee in the Tannheimer Valley - The Vilsalpsee, one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol, is located in the middle of the nature reserve of the same name.
