Mountain air and the ideal time of year for allergy sufferers on holiday in Tyrol
Enjoying fresh mountain air on holiday
A holiday in the Tyrolean mountains is ideal for those with pollen and house dust allergies. The fresh, unpolluted mountain air and cooler temperatures help to alleviate respiratory symptoms. What’s more, pollen levels are significantly lower at altitudes above 1,500 metres than in the lowlands. Furthermore, at 1,500 metres above sea level, house dust mites run out of steam, so they won’t spoil your stop at a mountain hut.
From your Panoramahotel Talhof in Wängle (at around 1,000 metres above sea level), you can reach the hiking paradise of Hahnenkamm at around 2,000 metres in no time by cable car and enjoy the healthy Tyrolean mountain air there without a care in the world. You’ll breathe freely, feel fitter and more energetic, and enjoy hiking and cycling even more.
The Zugspitze, at almost 3,000 m, is also a hit with allergy sufferers! You can easily spend a whole day here – your cable car ticket includes entry to the “Faszination Zugspitze” interactive museum, featuring exhibits on Tyrol’s first cable car, and to the Snow Crystal World.
Allergy sufferers on winter holidays
For those with pollen allergies, a winter holiday is a winter wonderland in every sense of the word. No pollen in sight, but powder snow in abundance!
Dog allergies: Please note that dogs are allowed in our hotel, but naturally not in the allergy-friendly rooms.
